The Village Banner

Early in 1999, in response to a request from the Scottish Woman's Guild Head Office, the Avoch Woman's Guild decided to make a banner. Enthused by this proposed project, Mrs Lilian M Noble, Avoch, produced the banner (which hangs on the right hand wall as you enter the main church building) while waiting for the completion of preparations for the Avoch Guild Millennium banner, which she subsequently also assisted with.
The banner design is not intended to show a map of Avoch, but is a schematic representation of several features of the village - the Harbour, the Fishermen's Cottages in Henrietta Street, the War Memorial and the memorial to Sir Alexander Mackenzie.
Mrs Noble had great pleasure in giving it to the Avoch Church of Scotland in October 2001.
